Update on Solids

Nathan has been doing great, eating solids twice a day for the past couple of weeks now. The boy loves to eat! So far we've tried:

  • sweet potatoes (they were tolerable the first couple tries and then he started gagging)
  • avocado (seemed to work until he broke out in a rash so we stopped those fast)
  • banana (loved them but they were a bit too binding)
  • butternut squash (LOVED them! gobbled them up)
  • peas (enjoyed them but what a mess!)
We're now on a combo of sweet potato and squash until I make the next new batch - pears. His 6 month well visit is this week so we'll see how the doctor thinks he's doing and go from there.

We've also introduced a sippy cup with water. I've tried one with a straw and one without but I am pretty sure he doesn't get any in either way. It's funny to watch him try, though! In the meantime, he loves taking sips from my cup. I don't appreciate the drooly backwash but it's cute to see him reach for it and open wide for a taste.

Try mixing peas and pears together! That was one of Carter's favorites :)
